While each state DMV, MVD, DPS, MVA, DOR, and SOS has its own specific teen driver laws, your new driver’s license restrictions will likely include: Completing a classroom Driver’s Ed program. Behind-the-wheel driving practice with a driving instructor. Parental consent or sponsorship. Passing the DMV written test.

Teen Driver Skills Testing Teen Driving Skills Testing Before your teen driver can apply to take the driving skills test, he or she must have successfully completed Segment 2 of the driver education course, received the white Segment 2 Certificate of Completion and logged a minimum of 50 hours supervised driving which includes a minimum of 10 hours at night.
Parental Access to Teen Driving Records — Parents may view their teen’s ( 18) driving record free through the Secretary of State Web site. Several security features will protect the teen’s privacy and ensure that only the parents/legal guardians are granted access to the teen’s driving record.
Teen SOS is a program designed to give teens, ages 15-18, the opportunity to come together, talk about real issues and facts in confidence and get adult input from people they can trust. There will also be retreats, outings and other exciting things.
